Home Sweet Home!

Even though we had a great week at Lake Amistad....I was soooooo happy to come home again and see my little boy. When Bill and Sandra brought Tyler back to Ausin on Saturday, we headed out to The Oasis to celebrate.
Tyler was just as happy to be home with us, as we were to have him home!

There is nothing better than the tickle game!

Lamar, Bill and Tyler enjoying the view at the Oasis.

3 generations of Stocktons.

Tyler really didn't want to be in the high chair....probably because he missed us like crazy and just wanted to be close to us and sit in our laps and love on us because he missed us...I'm pretty sure that's the reason!
So he got to sit with daddy for a while, and help him with his drink.

And then he got to play with mommy and look over the railing at the gorgeous lake.

We are such softies!!!
But seriously, could YOU have resisted that sweet sweet smile? I think not.
I love being home with my family!

A week away.....

Last week Lamar and I left Tyler in Arlington with the grandparents, and we headed for Lake Amistad in Del Rio for Riverbend's High School House Boat Camp. (Lamar was leading the worship and I was a small group leader.) Even though I am always sad when I am away from Tyler...I enjoyed myself thoroughly on our trip. We got to stay on a gorgeous lake, in very nice houseboats, with an amazing group of high schoolers and staff and see God's beautiful creation in all it's glory. Here is a little picture of where we were.

Miranda and I were small group leaders for 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls. I really enjoyed the girls on my boat and I was so impressed with their maturity and willingness to be open and honest. What a great group of Godly young women!

Can you tell how tired I was?
Our group picture...Lamar and I are at the bottom right.

One of the things that made this trip so great, was knowing how much fun Tyler was having with Bill and Sandra. They took him to the aquarium, to the lake to feed the ducks, to the mall for a little shopping, swimming at the big pool with Aunt Jo, and they even bought a kiddie pool to play in the back yard. Every day when I would call them (after driving the boat 10miles to the marina so I could get phone service...thanks Chad!) Tyler was always laughing and having a good time. It made my heart happy knowing he adjusted so well to his new surroundings. Bill and Sandra were so great at sending me pictures on their phones every day, so I could see what my little boy was doing. Here are a few of the pictures I received!

Yay to a fabulous week!

Happily Every After!!!

6 years ago today....

And now.....

Dreams do come true!

Milestones Galore

Tyler amazes me with how much he is learning every day. Here is a short list of SOME of the new milestones he has reached...
1. Tyler can feed himself absolutely everything now, and uses a spoon or fork to do so. It's not the cleanest milestone, but it's a great one.
2. He not only walks, but he runs everywhere now. I can hardly keep up!
3. He can "sing" a song to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".
4. He can count to three by saying, "uh, tu, weeeeeeeee".
5. He has some new words that he says regularly: car, dog, mama, daddy, duck, and shoes.
6. When I ask him to, Tyler can point to my nose, eyes, mouth and ears.
7. Tyler will lift our shirts, pinch our belly and say, "Kitta Kitta Kitta". (his version of tickle, tickle, tickle).
8. He loves to give high fives.
9. Tyler not only loves to be read to, but he now climbs into his rocking chair and "reads" to us.

10. He can climb up just about anything!

Silly faces

Tyler has been making the funniest faces lately, so I thought I would share a few of them with you.

Scary face....

Biker dude face....

Mommy just hit me in the forehead with her tooth and now I'm sad face (note the mark above his right eyebrow)....

Mommy kissed my forehead and now I'm all better face....

Learning how to say "cheese" face....

I'm oh so sleepy face....

Peek-a-who?

Guess who Tyler's new best friend is......

Peek-a-boo....it's Chase.

Now that Chase is staying with us, (more often than not), Tyler loves to play with him. Even when Lamar and I are both in the room, Tyler will go to Chase and not us! It's sad.....but sweet.
Another thing that is sad but sweet is when my boys are sick. It's sad because I can't make them better, but it's sweet because they help take care of one another. They especially like to feed each other jell-o.

Story Time!

One of Tyler's favorite things to do is read! It doesn't matter who is over at our house, he will pull every one of his books out of his book box and bring them to you one by one. Then he will sit down in your lap, hand you the book and wait for you to start reading. And if you can't hear him and you don't know where he is....don't worry....he is probably sitting on the floor in the playroom, "reading" to himself. He is going to be such a good first grader some day!
