GOD IS GOOD!!!

Happy Half Birthday Tyler!

Today is Tyler's half birthday. 6 months old...can you believe it? Time has gone by so fast and Tyler has learned so much. We went to Dr. Bocchicchio today for his 6 month check-up, and the Dr. B said Tyler is perfect. Tyler weighs 17.5 pounds (50th percentile), he is 27 1/2 inches long (76th percentile), and his head is 44 cm (70th percentile). So my baby is tall and has a big head. Here are some pictures from this past week. One of the things Tyler has learned how to do is stand on his own. Granted, I put him in these positions, but he can hold himself up now. What a big boy!

One of our favorite things to do is to go get Tyler out of his crib when he wakes up. We love this moment because he is so happy to see us. He laughs, talks and peeks out of the side of his crib, waiting for us to come in.

Tyler loves playing Superman. He thinks it is so funny to fly above my face and then drool all over me. Aawww....fun times. By the way, those are his shorts on his head. Lamar did it.

I started cutting coupons this week, an old Sunday tradition I used to do with my mom, and Tyler really wanted to help. His idea of helping wasn't quite what I was needing, but he was very insistent.

Lamar has so much fun playing with Tyler. It is really cute to watch them together. Tyler is going to really love wrestling, playing catch, and learning to play guitar one day. Lamar will make sure of that.

Say goodbye Tyler.

Nothing to do with Tyler, sorry!

Ok, so Lamar and I went downtown today to have lunch with our friends, Miranda and Luke. We went to a place called Jo's because they have the absolute best hamburgers around. We were about to leave when Lamar said, "Hey, there's that guy that won American Idol." So naturally I glance over and see a guy that totally looks like Taylor Hicks. You know, the guy with salt and pepper hair that won last year. I really liked him that year and wanted him to win so bad, so I was very happy when he actually won, despite what Simon said. Anyways, back to the story. We argued about it for a while and I was certain it was not him. I tried to get someone to ask him his name, but no one would go. We even asked the waitress to look at her credit card receipts to see if one was his, but none had his name on it. Determined not to leave without finding out the truth, I called my trusty friend Lindsey, and asked her to look him up on the internet to see if he was in the area doing a show or something. Sure enough, she said he was in San Marcos for the day doing a show. So, I summoned up my courage, walked back into the restaurant, and walked right up to his table. I simply said, "Hi, Im sorry, but my husband and I are debating about who you are." He started shaking his head and said "Yes". To which I said, "You are?" And he said "Yes, I am." Then I babbled on about how much I loved his music and thought he was amazing on Idol, blah, blah, blah. Then I shook his hand, and the beautiful girls hand that was with him, and I left, so proud of myself for actually having the nerve to ask. So, this whole long story just to say.....I met Taylor Hicks today. Lamar was right, I was wrong. But, I am so happy that I met my first famous person today. I love Austin Texas!!

(Sorry I don't have any pictures to post, but I thought that would be a little over board. Well, Lamar thought it would be over board.)

Check out Little D.

YAY! Tyler's cousin is here and now you can see her with your own eyes. Topher and Leya made a blog for Drew already. Apparently they are much faster at these things than we were. Just click on the link for Drew Stockton so you can check her out and see how beautiful she is.

This just in.......

Tyler has his first baby cousin. Drew Meredith Stockton was born today! She weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long. She is doing well and mama Leya is doing fine too. Pictures will be coming soon!

My baby boy is growing up!

Well I know it has been a while so let me catch you up. Tyler is almost 6 months now. I know....he is growing up so fast! Tyler had his first babysittes (besides grandparents) and he was such a good boy. I just had my 27th Birthday and Lamar took me out for a night on the town and asked our friends Brian and Caitlin to come and watch Tyler. They bathed him, fed him, and put him to bed for us. I was so sad to miss out on getting Tyler ready for bed, since it is one of my favorite times of the day, but they did a fabulous job. Thanks guys!

Lamar and I had a great time on 6th street. I actually dressed up a little too. I think I even wore make-up and had my hair down. Aren't you proud?

Lamar threw a party for me at our apartment pool the day after my birthday. We grilled burgers and dogs, swam a little, and hung out with friends. We had a great time and Tyler got to play in the water again. One of his favorite things to do. Mandy and Adam brought baby Atticus to play too. He is Tyler's very first (and only) friend here in Austin. But don't worry, there are more babies on the way. YAY!!!

This last week Lamar was out of town at a camp. It was a pretty rough week because Tyler was really sick. Luckily, Tyler has one of the cutest "I'm sick" faces in the whole world. (I am happy to report that Lamar if finally home and Tyler is feeling much better now.)

Tyler has developed his first bad habit. Television! #1. He likes to army crawl really close to the TV so he can see what's going on. #2. He likes to hold onto the remote control and change the channels (and slobber all over it of course).

Did you hear me earlier? Ya, I said Tyler was army crawling. He is almost fast enough to keep up with Simon. ALMOST!

We have started feeding Tyler carrots and applesauce this week, along with his baby cereal and formula. He is loving the real food, although, apparently it wears him out! He slept right through lunch the other day.

Tyler is also sitting up quite well on his own now.

Tyler has so much personality and expression now. He can say "dada", at least that's what we think he is saying. He is such a happy baby boy!

4th of July

It's been a little crazy around here so I am just now getting to update the blog. Sorry. We had an amazing 4th of July holiday (week). We got to play with so many friends in so many places. The weekend before the 4th we went to an amazing pool overlooking the lake with some friends here in Austin. Thanks to Chad and Amber for letting us hang out. Thanks to Grambee Beth for coming to play with Tyler so we could relax a little. Here is Tyler in his cool new sunglasses. He is so cool!

We really enjoyed hanging out at the pool. Lindsey let us borrow her hat to keep the sun off Tyler's head. Thanks Lindsey! By the way....we bought a Rangers ballcap the other day....Im sure you will see pictures of that soon.

On July 3rd we went to Nick and Lindsey's to eat burgers and watch fireworks. Tyler didn't even mind the noise from the fireworks. Maybe it's because he is used to so much noise around the house. I blame my sister for teaching me how to speak loudly. Thanks Mande.

Then on July 4th, we decided to go to Arlington for Todd and Kristin's annual 4th of July party. We got hang out with all our friends and Tyler got to hang out with Laney. They are so cute together. We had so much fun and really enjoyed seeing everyone. If they would all move to Austin, everything would be perfect!

"Uncle" Jared taught Tyler how to jump on the edge of the bounce house. He had a lot of fun, Tyler did too!

When we got home we bought Tyler his first pool floatie. It is a huge crab with a sun blocking canopy on top, as Im sure you can see. He had so much fun hanging out in the crab.

Does he know how to chill out and relax or what?

We can't wait to share more pictures and fun times with you guys. We love you and miss you!
