Proud Mama Post

Time for Tyler to go back to Pre-School again.
He was really excited to go see his new "friends", even though only 2 of the kids in his class are from his class last year. He didn't care!  Everyone is his "friend"!  But his favorite part of going back to school was his new lunchbox.  He has been asking for his lunchbox everyday since I bought it......3 weeks ago!
This is Tyler's new "say cheese" face!

His new "first day" shirt. FLASH to the rescue!!!
Now what teacher wouldn't love to have this adorable face in their class?
Can we just say that my son is "too cool for school". I mean seriously, who is this tough guy?
I do have to brag on him just a bit. Even though Tyler is only 2 1/2, he is in the 3 year old class. And even though he is the SECOND YOUNGEST in his class...he is the ONLY ONE POTTY TRAINED!!!  Not only is he potty trained, he gets a sticker every time he goes in the potty, and he came home Tuesday with 5 stickers!!!  I am so proud of my big boy.

Well today when Lamar went to pick him up, Mrs. Lisa asked if she could speak to Lamar in the classroom for just a second.  (My thoughts.....UH OH! The last time we were asked to "be spoken to" or got a note home, it was because Tyler was being too aggressive, hitting and pulling hair!  Crap!)  BUT.....instead, Mrs. Lisa said, " I don't think we can send Tyler home with you today.  We love him too much and he is just too funny, so we are gonna have to keep him here with us."  YAY! His teachers love him.  But how could I blame them....I don't want to let him go either.

And just FYI: Tyler went to see Dr. B. Wednesday to get caught up on all his immunizations for school.  He did great. He cried more about having to leave before he finished his book than he did about the shot.  But we also got his new stats.

Height: 38 1/4 inches  (85%)
Weight: 31.8 pounds  (70%)

Where does this come from?

Hello Again!

Do you remember that movie?  Shelley Long and Bette Midler were in it.  I used to love that movie.
Anyways.....sorry it's been so long.  I can't believe I have neglected to fill you in on all the amazing things that have been going on this summer.  From swimming in the pool, to building sand castles at the beach, to entering Tyler in his first rodeo, to buying a h
ouse, to potty training, to getting our dog Simon back, to seeing our friends from Cali,.......let's just say we have been RIDICULOUSLY BUSY!!!
So bare with me...I will try to catch you up as best as possible, little by little.

One of the most amazing things we did this summer, was our trip to Panama City Beach, Florida to do a camp with Topher, Leya and Drew.  It really was an amazing trip that went much better than expected.  Tyler slept the majority of the way there and back, and only got fussy one time and it didn't last long.  I was so proud of him! Now I'm not saying that Tyler didn't enter into the terrible two's stage (clingy and attached to mama) once we got there.....but other than that....it was such a great week.
Tyler absolutely LOVED seeing his cousin Drew again.  They played so well together all week, and it was just precious watching the two
 of them interact.
And praise the Lord that Gammy was there!  Beth was such a huge help in Florida (meals, bedtime, beach time, tantrum time....she did it all)!  Thanks Gammy!
And of course, Lamar and I were so excited to get to see Toph and Leya.  We miss them like crazy and it was a great week of hang out time!
Here is a glimpse of our week at the beach.

Sweet cousin reunion

Tyler loved being buried in the sand!

Oh how I've missed my Leya!
My sweet husband and me.....pure bliss!

The Never Ending Story......

of PINK EYE!!!
So Tyler has been fighting a never ending battle with pink eye for the last 4 weeks. When he FIRST got it, I wanted to get some pictures so we would make sure and remember his first pink eye experience. (I LOVE MEMORIES!) But now that he has had it repeatedly for about 4 weeks....I don't see how we could ever forget!

But don't you worry! A little pink eye can't bring this boy down!

Sprinkles!!!!

Tyler had a blast a couple weeks ago playing in the sprinklers, or as he calls them, "sprinkles"!. Little does he know that playing IN the sprinklers is actually way more fun than just playing in the side mist that is spraying onto our porch. But he doesn't care. It's the little things that bring him the most joy. And I LOVE that!!!

Easter Fun 2009

Sorry for the lack in posting lately....just been busy. I have tons to post though, so stay tuned and don't give up on me!

Easter was a blast this year. Aunt Mande and Uncle Ty got to come hang out with us and Tyler LOVED it. It might be partly due to the fact that they brought him the most AMAZING Easter present EVER!!!

Easter Eggstravaganza at Riverbend + family and friends = loads of fun! I loved that Tyler understood the whole "Easter egg hunt" thing. It made it ten times more fun that last year, just seeing the excitement on his face.

Tyler was soooo proud of all his Easter eggs.
This is his new ""say cheese" face.  Love it!

This year's picture with the fake Easter bunny.

Ready for a rockin' good time with Mande and Ty.

Me and my beautiful sister...

Yummy Easter Brunch prepared by the Kniffen sisters!

Tyler really enjoyed it!
As did everyone else.

Time for Tyler to open his Easter basket!

Bubbles are always a big hit!

We had everyone over Easter evening for some taco soup and egg dying.  Tyler loved all the attention he got.  He is one loved little boy!

And he obviously loved the Easter cake mommy made.  We decorated it together...(by decorated it together I mean, mommy put on the icing and sprinkles and Tyler ATE the icing and sprinkles!)

What a WONDERFUL Easter!!!
