He did it! He did it!
Tyler did it! He sat up on his own. He even stayed up long enough for me to go get the camera and take a picture. Oh we are so proud!
Big boy's gotta eat!
When we got home from all of our camps and vacations, we decided that Tyler needed more food. Why? you might ask. He is already big enough and he is growing just fine. Yes...I agree....but we thought it would be really fun. So, we gave him his first taste of rice cereal, outside of a bottle I mean. It was awesome! Tyler had it everywhere. At first, he did not understand what this gooey stuff was that I was trying to put into his mouth. But after a few bites, big boy wanted to eat. I guess he takes after his mama! Eventually, he wanted to grab the spoon and do it himself. So naturally, we let him. As you might guess, we made a big mess. We have been feeding him some rice cereal every morning since and he is not quite as messy, but he enjoys it just the same.

Great Grandparent's Rock!
We also got to visit my grandparent's this summer. Tyler got so many hugs and kisses I thought his face was going to fall off. He just loved it...and so did I! Everyone could see where Tyler got his looks from, not only from his mommy and daddy, but from his great grandfather. We stayed at my Aunt Jennie's house and she showed Tyler how to work in a garden, make a quilt and feed the horses. Oh, and he got to try on his first pair of cowboy boots. How cute! It is truly amazing to have four generations in the same room. Not many people get that chance. We truly are blessed!
Down on PawPaw's Farm
I think one of Tyler's favorite things was when we visited PawPaw's farm. Listen here ya'll.....my dad is the ultimate cowboy. He has land, horses, a garden, and now he has a cattle business. He makes his own feed and brings in calves from all over the place to fatten em' up! Because of this high falootin' new job he has all sorts of fun toys.....a tractor, a feed truck, and a four wheeler. Of course, Tyler wanted to ride em' all and so he did! He is our little Texan' through and through. YeeHaw!!!
Tyler's first swimming lesson
We decided to take Tyler for his first swimming lesson. We hope that by doing this that he will one day swim better than his mommy. At first, there might have been a tiny bit of crying and a teensy bit of screaming, mostly because our new friend Nick introduced Tyler to the cannonball. But once he got the hang of it, it was smooth swimming. Lamar did a great job playing motorboat with Tyler and I just enjoyed walking him around the pool so that everyone could see how cute he was in his board shorts and rash guard. I mean seriously, wouldn't you do the same?
Let's review shall we...
On January 31, 2007, Lamar and I began a new adventure. Tyler was born and he changed our world.....and oh what an amazing change it has been. We couldn't believe that we were now in charge of another life. It just didn't seem possible that we could have earned such a right. Since that day we have been super busy with this tiny little bundle of energy. Tyler has learned how to smile, laugh, put everything into his mouth, roll over in every direction, almost sit up on his own, scoot across the floor, turn 360 degree circles on his belly, and sleep 10 hours at night. (This last feat is our favorite!) He truly is an amazing little boy.
